TENNIS VILLAGE TO HOST FAN FUN WITH ALL SIX PLAYERS ON DAY ONE OF THE MUBADALA WORLD TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP

Preparations are nearing completion in the Mubadala World Tennis Championship Tennis Village where scores of fans of all ages, as well as the players themselves, will be celebrating the start of the region’s most hotly anticipated tennis tournament which gets underway on the 31st of December 2015 at Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi.

Sporting superstars Rafael Nadal, Stan Wawrinka, David Ferrer, Milos Raonic, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Kevin Anderson are set to descend on the UAE capital over New Year in what is sure to be another showcase of sporting excellence as six of the world’s best players battle it out in the ‘winner takes all’ tournament.

Now in its eighth instalment, the Mubadala World Tennis Championship continues to build on its legacy of boosting interest in tennis amongst the local population and this year will see the addition of a Championship for the top UAE National players. The visitor experience is also set to be the best yet with brand new activations in the Tennis Village, new seats throughout the stadium, the launch of a new line of merchandise and an enhanced hospitality experience, all opening to the public at 12pm every day.

Bringing back its carnival theme with a variety of games and prizes to be won, the Tennis Village will come alive with exciting activations, from Etihad’s interactive booth to the return of the crowd-favourite Rado speed serve, where fans are able to clock their own skills against those of their tennis heroes.

Meanwhile the updated and refurbished hospitality area will sport a new vibe with booth-style seating, supreme food & beverage menu’s with exceptional service and upgraded access to daily player Q&A sessions.

Fans will be able to enjoy a wide range of food and beverage offerings along with fun activities in the Village Green and a jumbo screen displaying the matches live to ensure they don’t miss a moment of the action. The atmosphere will no doubt be electric as the new and hungry players in the line-up look forward to getting their hands on the trophy and enjoy interacting with fans in the Tennis Village. Fans are encouraged to come down and live out their dreams of meeting their favourite players while taking part in the wide variety of exciting, tennis-themed activations.

The Tennis Village is the perfect way for fans to get closer to their tennis heroes and enjoy the exclusive experience to meet and greet the best players in the world, in a social environment. From 1pm on Day One, Pat Cash will be this year’s host of Kid’s Day giving the young people of the UAE capital a chance to ask Canadian star, Milos Raonic questions in a fun filled atmosphere.

Throughout the day there will be plenty of opportunities for fans of all age groups to get involved in the action and to enjoy the buzz of the tournament. World number 4 Stan Wawrinka and returning crowd favourite Rafael Nadal will also be making appearances for autograph sessions between 2.30pm and 3pm on Day One with prizes up for grabs for the younger tennis lovers.

The 3-day tournament boasts a thrilling line up of elite talent and an exciting balance of off court enjoyment which appeals to entertainment fans of all ages. A unique combination of a ‘winner-takes-all’ prize of $250,000 and a championship format that paves the way for the world’s best players to battle it out in this ruthless championship that will serve up action-packed thrills from the first point to the last.
