With the Mubadala World Tennis Championship just days away, tennis fans are being given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet one of the stars of the annual Abu Dhabi showpiece tournament. Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi’s must-visit, vibrant getaway shopping experience and official sponsor of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship, will host an autograph signing session with world number seven, David Ferrer, on Wednesday, December 30th from 12.45am.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest returners in tennis, David Ferrer’s last run out at the UAE tournament saw him finish runner-up in the final and the Spaniard can’t wait to get back on court in the capital: “I’m really looking forward to getting Abu Dhabi and checking out some of the sights before the tournament. I have been out a number of times before so know what to expect and it’s all positive. The reception from the crowds is always fantastic, the playing conditions are incredible and the overall atmosphere is one of celebration so it’s going to be a lot of fun. The great thing about Abu Dhabi are the sports fans who always make me feel very welcome. I’m looking forward to meeting up with them at Yas Mall on December 30th and then catching up with more at the event itself starting on December 31st. I hope there will be a lot of Spanish flags to support me!”
Talal Al Dhiyebi, Chief Development Officer at Aldar Properties PJSC added: “We are proud to partner with Mubadala World Tennis Championship for the second year in bringing sports fans the opportunity to meet tennis legend David Ferrer. It is a priority for Yas Mall to ensure that it continues supporting major sports events in Abu Dhabi, and providing our visitors with unique experiences through exciting activities and entertainment designed to meet the interests of all. We look forward to celebrating the New Year with families of all ages and nationalities.”
The session will kick-start a weekend of top flight tennis and entertainment in the UAE capital with crowds set to see sporting superstars Rafael Nadal, Stan Wawrinka, David Ferrer, Milos Raonic, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Kevin Anderson descend on the UAE capital over New Year in what is sure to be another showcase of sporting excellence as six of the world’s best players battle it out for victory in the ‘winner takes all’ tournament.
