Mubadala Tennis in Schools
A MINI-TENNIS INITIATIVE WHICH AIMS TO INTRODUCE TENNIS TO SCHOOL KIDS IN ORDER TO DEVELOP NEW TENNIS TALENTS IN THE UAE AND PROMOTE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE FOR THE GENERATION OF TOMORROW.
Mubadala Tennis in Schools (MTiS) is an inspirational grassroots community initiative championed by Mubadala in order to grow the game of tennis in the UAE, and promote an active lifestyle. It gives pupils aged 7-10 from schools across Abu Dhabi the chance to take their first steps into the sport by introducing them to a series of tennis sessions taking place each week at the International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City. The programme provides pupils with the coaching, in a professional tennis environment, that they need to nurture a life-long passion for the game from an early age, and encourage an active and healthy lifestyle.
As the Mubadala World Tennis Championship approaches, two lucky students showing most enthusiasm for the sport from each school will be selected to demonstrate their mini-tennis skills on centre court on the first day of the tournament. The programme will then continue with sessions hosted at the International Tennis Centre at Zayed Sports City weekly until May 2017, culminating in an End of Season Championship where the skills of the youngsters will be put to the test.
